    Exporting Invoice Data via Quickbooks IIF Files

We've also designed Time Logger to export .IIF files that may be read by Quickbooks.  Each time you post an invoice, the invoice data (Client, Amount, etc.) is placed in a Quickbooks .IIF file.  You may then import the data into Quickbooks from this file.

To enable this feature, choose Tools/Global Options/General and check item "Export Invoice Data for Import Into Quickbooks".  Once this feature is enabled, Time Logger will add invoice information to an .IIF file each time you post an invoice to Accounts Receivable.

The information will be exported to the file "INVOICES.IIF" in the directory to which you installed Time Logger.

Time Logger exports the Date, Amount, Invoice Number, Client Name, Client Address and Account name.  The Account name comes from the A/R Category field, that you may specify in the Client Data window for each client (choose Edit/Edit Client Information).  Time Logger also adds a transaction description consisting of the words "Imported from Time Logger."

Once you've posted an invoice, you can start up Quickbooks and choose Import from Quickbooks' File menu.  In the window that appears, select the .IIF file that Time Logger exported to, and select OK.  Quickbooks will then import the transaction(s).  It will add a transaction to the Accounts Receivable account, and a balancing transaction to the account you specified in the Client's A/R Category field.
