To search for files on your computer, follow these directions below.

 

NOTE: If you are using Windows Vista with version 4x of Time Logger and you install to C:\Program Files\Timelog, the actual physical path where your data files and settings are stored is:

 

C:\Users\????\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Timelog

 

or for Vista 64bit:

 

C:\Users\????\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Timelog

 

where ???? is your username that you start Windows Vista with.

Search Using Windows XP

===================================

 

1a) Click "START" on your computer

 

2a) Select "Search" and "For Files and Folders"

 

3a) On the left menu for "What do you want to search for?" select: "All files and folders"

 

4a) For "Search by any or all of the criteria below:" type something that follows into the "All or part of the file name:"  to search for Time Logger files.

 

NOTE: case does not matter when you search for files and do not enter the text between the brackets [ and ] - only what's in bold.

 

*.MDB [to search for ALL time records database files, clients.mdb, descript.mdb, invoices.mdb, userlist.mdb and others. ]
the-name-of-your-time-records-database-file.MDB [if you know the exact name]
CLIENTS.MDB
DESCRIPT.MDB
INVOICES.MDB
USERLIST.MDB
*AUTOBACKUP*.BAK [to search for all AutoBackup files that Time Logger created.]

 

5a) For the "Look in:"  click the down arrow and choose "...browse" at the bottom.

 

6a) Select "My Comupter", then "C:" and click OK.

 

NOTE: You can search in different locations if you desire or need to.

 

7a) And click the "Search" button. (The search results will appear to the right.  You may need to widen columns and/or scroll to the right to see the Path and Folder name.)

Search Using Windows Vista

1b) Click the "START" button on your computer

 

2b) Select "Search"

 

3b) On the upper-right click the down-arrow next to "Advanced Search"

 

4b) For "Location" choose "C:"

 

NOTE: You can search in different locations if you desire or need to.

 

5b) For "Name" type one of these values that are in all caps (note that case does not matter when you search for files)

 

NOTE: case does not matter when you search for files and do not enter the text between the brackets [ and ] - only what's in bold.

 

*.MDB [to search for ALL time records database files, clients.mdb, descript.mdb, invoices.mdb, userlist.mdb and others. ]
the-name-of-your-time-records-database-file.MDB [if you know the exact name]
CLIENTS.MDB
DESCRIPT.MDB
INVOICES.MDB
USERLIST.MDB

6b) Check the box "Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files (might be slow)"

 

7b) And click the "Search" button. (The search results will appear below.  You may need to widen columns and/or scroll to the right to see the Path and Folder name).
